SPARTANBURG, SC -- BMW Group (Munich, Germany) is spending $750 million to expand and upgrade the plant where it builds its X5 and X6 sport utility vehicles, and the Z4 roadster.
The 3-year project calls for construction of a new 1.2-millionsquare foot assembly facility north of the company's existing plant to accommodate production of the new X3 Sports Activity Vehicle.
