WHALEN SAYS JENNINGS LACKS KNOWLEDGE ABOUT TRASH SYSTEM.(CAPITAL REGION)

Mayor Thomas M. Whalen III on Tuesday turned the criticism of the proposed sale of the city's trash system back on 11th Ward Alderman Gerald Jennings, stating the mayoral candidate showed "a lack of knowledge" on the issue.

Whalen, in a short press release responding to Jennings' proposal to keep the system public and develop a regional landfill, offered no specific criticisms of Jennings' plan, stating only that he asked four top staffers to meet immediately to draft a response. He did not return a request for further comment.
